Easy and Healthy Turkey Wraps start with a soft tortilla that we load up with deli turkey meat, white Cheddar cheese, and the quickest apple slaw. This wrap is packed with protein and fiber, it’s filling, satiating, and so tasty!
For Healthy Turkey Lettuce Wraps, try these Taco Lettuce Wraps substituting ground turkey in place of ground beef. These Chicken Lettuce Wraps are another favorite (again, swap chicken for turkey if desired).

Healthy Turkey Wraps
Last year we shared two wrap recipes in our series of back-to-school recipes (Turkey Cranberry Wrap and Chicken Caesar Wrap). And this year we’ve got another winning wrap!
We love wraps — they’re a go-to favorite for lunch, and they can also make a great dinner. Especially if you need a quick dinner on the go! I love prepping a few of these wraps with some cut-up fruits and veggies, chips, and drinks to take as a picnic when we watch kids’ sports or enjoy the last few warm days!
And these wraps are the perfect bridge between summer and fall. The crisp apple slaw pairs beautifully with the turkey and white Cheddar.
Healthy Turkey Wrap Ingredients
- Flour tortillas. We love these unbaked tortillas by TortillaLand® (not sponsored). They are generally found in the refrigerated section of the grocery store near the cheeses and are the best flavor-wise. They have a great texture and ensure these wraps taste light and fresh. We definitely prefer unbaked tortillas that can be warmed up on the stovetop — they fold better and taste fresher. If you only have prepared tortillas, warm them under a damp paper towel for 10 seconds in the microwave before using them.
- Deli turkey. We like using a good, freshly sliced deli turkey for these Healthy Turkey Wraps — Boar’s Head® is our personal favorite. We also like a thick cut made by Hillshire Farm — their premium carved oven-roasted turkey breast (pictured above). And if you don’t like turkey, we’ve even made these with deli ham and enjoyed them!
- White Cheddar cheese. Sargento® aged white Cheddar is a favorite in these wraps. A sharp (yellow) Cheddar is also so tasty!
QUICK TIP
If you have concerns about sodium or nitrite levels in deli turkey, you can easily find sliced turkey with no additives. They’re generally labeled organic or natural.
Ingredients Continued.
- Mayo. While there is some mayonnaise in these healthy wraps, it’s very minimal and much lighter than the typical dressing for turkey wraps other recipes may require.
- Apple. The apple adds a nice contrasting flavor to the turkey as well as some sweet and tart notes. We recommend a Granny Smith apple here to bring some tartness.
- Lemon. The lemon adds acidity and freshness. For an even stronger flavor, add in some lemon zest!
- Coleslaw mix. Nothing fancy here — just a store-bought package of coleslaw works great! Most coleslaw mixes are in the produce section of the grocery store near other packaged salad mixes.
Are Turkey and Cheese Wraps Healthy?
We love these wraps because they’re high in fiber and protein, helping them to be more satiating.
Here are a few swaps if you’re working with dietary restrictions:
- Siete® turkey wrap: We really enjoy this wrap in a Cassava Tortilla. These tortillas are more prone to breaking, but they’re great if you need something gluten free and nut free! (Warm them in the microwave for about 8-10 seconds before using.)
- Turkey spinach wrap: Want even more veggies? Add in a handful of baby spinach before adding in the turkey.
- Healthy spinach wrap: Swap out the tortilla with a Spinach Wrap instead!

Healthy Turkey Wraps
Easy and Healthy Turkey Wraps start with a soft tortilla that we load up with deli turkey meat, white Cheddar cheese, and the quickest apple slaw. This wrap is packed with protein and fiber, it’s filling and satiating, and so tasty!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons regular mayo, plus some for spreading on tortillas (Note 1)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup packaged coleslaw blend (Note 2)
- 1 cup grated Granny Smith apple
- Salt & pepper
- 3 large tortillas (Note 3)
- Thick-sliced deli turkey
- 3 slices sharp Cheddar cheese (Note 4)
Instructions
-
COLESLAW: In a medium-sized bowl, add 1 cup coleslaw blend, 1 cup grated Granny Smith apple (grated on the large holes of a box-grater), 2 tablespoons mayo, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, plus a pinch of salt and pepper. Toss to combine.
-
ASSEMBLY: Set out tortillas and spread a thin, even layer of mayo on each one. In the center of the tortillas, add deli turkey (as much or as little as you’d like, but so much that the wrap is hard to manage). Cut slices of cheese in half and set the cheese on top of the turkey. Finally, divide the coleslaw evenly among each tortilla.
-
ENJOY: Tightly roll up wraps, cut in half, and enjoy promptly! (These don’t store or last super long — the saucy coleslaw will start to make them soggy.)
Recipe Notes
Note 2: Coleslaw: Nothing fancy here — just a store-bought package of undressed coleslaw (typically in the produce section of the grocery store near other packaged salad mixes).
